Calgary Flames and New York Rangers Clash at Madison Square Garden

As the Calgary Flames prepare to face off against the New York Rangers at the iconic Madison Square Garden, fans are eager to see if their team can reignite the spark that led them to victory in their last home game on December 19 against the Florida Panthers. The Flames showed a robust defense, allowing only one goal and making an impressive 33 saves out of 34 shots. Their goaltending was impeccable, boasting a save percentage that rounded up to perfection.

The offensive side wasn't left behind either; with a shooting percentage of 12 percent and two shorthanded goals, they proved that they could capitalize on opportunities even when down a man. This resilience could be key in their upcoming game against the Rangers.

However, it's not all smooth skating for CGY. Their recent away game on December 24 against Los Angeles Kings exposed some cracks in their armor. Despite scoring three goals and landing hits with a shooting percentage of nine percent, they fell short as they conceded five goals. The defensive play was less than stellar with a minus-17 plus-minus rating indicating significant issues when players were on ice.

The NYR will not make it easy for them either. They have been known for their strong gameplay at home and will look to exploit any weakness CGY shows on ice.

It's crucial for CGY to tighten up defensively while maintaining aggressive offense if they want to come out victorious from Madison Square Garden – an arena where many visiting teams have found themselves bested by the energy of both fans and players alike.

The upcoming battle is set for February 13th at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Fans can catch all the action live on ESPN+ or tune into MSG 2 channel number 635-3 if you're cheering from home territory. The puck drops at what would be midnight UTC time; however local viewing schedules should be checked as broadcast times may vary based on time zones.
