The Flames also excelled in faceoffs winning 54 percent of them which helped maintain control of the puck and set up several scoring opportunities. Their powerplay unit had five shots on goal but did not convert any into scores; however, their penalty kill unit successfully negated all powerplay opportunities from the Kings.


On the opposing side, The Los Angeles Kings managed to put up a strong fight despite falling short on goals scored. They had a total of 29 shots on goal but were only able to get one past Wolf thanks to their even-strength play where they scored once out of twenty-eight attempts.

Player Performances


Dustin Wolf's goaltending was undoubtedly a highlight for Calgary; his performance between the pipes was instrumental in securing this win for his team. Additionally, Mikael Backlund's multi-point night underscored his importance to Calgary's forward group not just offensively but also defensively with his plus-minus rating of +2 indicating his effectiveness on ice during even strength play.


Kevin Rooney showcased efficiency by scoring once from just two shots demonstrating his sharpshooting capabilities while maintaining an overall positive impact during his ice time evidenced by his plus-minus rating of +1.
