Game Highlights

The game started off slow for both teams in the first period, with neither team able to find the back of the net. However, as play resumed in the second period, Calgary ignited their offense with three goals lighting up their side of the scoreboard. The Flames showcased their scoring ability through contributions from Matt Coronato and Ryan Lomberg each netting one goal apiece and Nazem Kadri adding another to his season tally. Despite these efforts and leading into the third period, Calgary couldn't maintain their lead as Boston fought back to tie up the game.

On defense and between the pipes for Calgary was Dustin Wolf who made an impressive 31 saves on 35 shots faced throughout regulation and overtime. His performance was critical in keeping many of Boston's attempts at bay but ultimately wasn't enough to secure a win for his team.

Player Performances

Nazem Kadri stood out not only by scoring one goal but also contributing significantly across 18 minutes on ice. Similarly impactful was Connor Zary who assisted on one goal demonstrating his playmaking skills during his time on ice which lasted over 15 minutes. Another notable performance came from Matt Coronato whose sharpshooting resulted in a goal from four attempts.

Despite these individual efforts and leading at various points during regular playtime, it was Boston's overtime goal that decided this nail-biter of a match-up favoring them over Calgary.

Looking ahead, The Calgary Flames are set to host Ottawa Senators at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary on December 19th at 9:00 PM EDT. Fans can catch this upcoming game live on ESPN+ ensuring they don’t miss any action as their team looks to bounce back from this tough loss.
