In a tightly contested match, the Calgary Flames emerged victorious with a narrow 1-0 win over the Montreal Canadiens. Flames' Defensive Mastery

The highlight of the game was undoubtedly Dustin Wolf's impeccable performance in goal for Calgary. Wolf managed to save all 26 shots he faced from Montreal, maintaining a perfect save percentage and earning him the first star of the game. His efforts were crucial in keeping Montreal at bay throughout all three periods and securing a shutout win for his team.

On offense, Joel Farabee made his mark by scoring the only goal of the game and ultimately securing victory for Calgary. Farabee's decisive strike was assisted by MacKenzie Weegar and Mikael Backlund, showcasing effective teamwork that capitalized on one of their 24 shots on goal against Montreal's goaltender Jakub Dobes.

Canadiens Struggle to Capitalize

Despite generating more shots on goal than Calgary with a total of 26 attempts, Montreal could not find a way past Wolf. The Canadiens also had two powerplay opportunities but failed to convert either into goals due to strong defensive play from Calgary. Their inability to score was further highlighted by their successful faceoff percentage (68 percent) which did not translate into scoring opportunities.

Montreal's goaltender Jakub Dobes also put up an impressive performance despite being on the losing side, saving 23 out of 24 shots faced. His efforts kept Montreal in contention throughout the match but were ultimately overshadowed by Wolf’s stellar shutout.
