The third period was where Calgary truly shone, netting three goals and sealing their triumph over San Jose.

San Jose's Struggles Against Flames

Despite their efforts, San Jose struggled against Calgary's aggressive playstyle. They managed only two goals during even-strength play and failed to capitalize on powerplay opportunities despite having seven shots during these chances. Their goaltender faced a barrage from Calgary's forwards but could only save 25 out of 30 shots faced.

The Sharks did show some strength in faceoffs with a win percentage of 53 percent but couldn't convert this advantage into more scoring opportunities or goals due to turnovers and giveaways that plagued them throughout all three periods.
