The Calgary Flames faced off against the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena, resulting in a 4-2 defeat for the visiting team. This game marked another challenging outing for the Flames, bringing their record to 2-9-2. Meanwhile, the Predators improved their standing with a record of 5-6-2.

First Period

The opening period set an early tone as the Preds took control with three goals. The home team's offensive prowess was on full display, leaving the Flaming C struggling to find their footing. Despite having more shots on goal than their opponents throughout this period, Calgary was unable to capitalize on any scoring opportunities.

Second Period

Both teams tightened up defensively in the second period, resulting in no goals scored by either side. The Flames managed to keep Nashville at bay but still couldn't break through Juuse Saros' goaltending wall despite several attempts from players like Nazem Kadri and Jonathan Huberdeau.

Third Period

In a spirited attempt at a comeback during the third period, Calgary finally found some success offensively. Goals from Jonathan Huberdeau and Joel Farabee brought hope back into their ranks as they closed in on Nashville's lead. However, an empty-net goal by Michael Bunting sealed their fate late in this final stretch of play.

Despite outshooting Nashville with 35 shots compared to 24 from the home team and winning nearly half of all faceoffs (49 percent), what went wrong for Calgary Flames was evident: missed opportunities and defensive lapses early on proved costly against such formidable opposition.
