First Period


The opening period saw both teams testing each other's defenses without finding the back of the net. The Flames managed 22 shots on goal but were unable to capitalize on their opportunities. Third Period


The third period remained goalless despite both teams having chances to take control of the game. The Flames struggled with giveaways and penalties which hindered their momentum. Meanwhile, Cooley continued his stellar performance between the pipes, keeping his team in contention.


Overtime


As overtime commenced, it was Jack Hughes who emerged as a pivotal figure once again for New Jersey by scoring an overtime goal that sealed their victory over Calgary. This decisive moment underscored Hughes' impact on game-changing plays between these two competitive sides.
