Calgary Flames' Flicker Fizzles as Minnesota Wild Roar at Grand Casino Arena

First Period


The opening period saw the Minnesota Wild take an early lead with two goals. The Flames struggled to find their rhythm, managing only a few shots on goal. Devin Cooley, Calgary's goaltender, made several crucial saves but couldn't prevent Jake Middleton from scoring for the Wild.


Second Period


In the second period, both teams tightened their defenses with neither side able to score. The Flames had multiple powerplay opportunities but failed to convert them into goals. Jonathan Huberdeau showed his playmaking skills by setting up chances that went uncapitalized.

Third Period


The final period witnessed some game-changing plays Calgary Flames vs Minnesota Wild as both teams pushed hard offensively. Morgan Frost managed to get one past Filip Gustavsson of the Wild, giving hope to Calgary fans with his lone goal for the team. However, it wasn't enough as Minnesota responded with two more goals including an empty-netter that sealed their victory.


Throughout this matchup, Devin Cooley stood out in net for Calgary despite conceding four goals; he made 20 saves and kept his team within reach until late in regulation time.
