The Hurricanes opened strong with a goal in the first period and maintained their momentum by adding another goal in the second. They sealed their victory with a third goal during the third period. Their offense was on point throughout the game, taking a total of 33 shots on goal and converting three into scores. The powerplay unit made its presence felt by capitalizing on one out of one opportunity presented to them.

Defensively, Carolina showed resilience as well. They blocked four shots and delivered eleven hits to keep Philadelphia at bay. The goaltender for the Hurricanes had an impressive night between the pipes, saving 26 out of 28 shots for a save percentage rounded to ninety-three percent.

On faceoffs, Carolina demonstrated superiority by winning thirty-nine out of fifty-five draws which translates to an excellent seventy-one percent success rate. This control over faceoffs undoubtedly contributed significantly to maintaining possession and ultimately securing their win.

The Flyers put up a valiant effort despite falling short on home ice. They scored twice early in the first period but were unable to sustain this offensive output as they failed to score again for the remainder of the game. Their powerplay opportunities were plentiful with five chances but yielded no goals due largely to Carolina's effective penalty kill which included seven shorthanded saves.

Philadelphia's goaltender also had his work cut out for him; he made thirty saves against thirty-three shots from Carolina's attackers resulting in a save percentage rounded down to ninety-one percent.
