Defensively, Carolina was just as impressive. They blocked an imposing number of shots – totaling 13 – and were successful in winning faceoffs with a rate of 60 percent overall. Their goaltender also made commendable efforts with saves matching his counterpart's total but ultimately conceded four goals.
