From the initial puck drop at TD Garden, it was clear that the Hurricanes were on a mission. Despite a goalless first period, they ramped up their efforts in the second period by netting two goals. The team's shooting accuracy was on display as they converted 15 percent of their shots into goals throughout the game. Their tenacity paid off again in the third period with another pair of goals solidifying their lead.

The Hurricanes' goaltender deserves special mention for an exceptional performance between the pipes, saving all but one of 23 shots faced and finishing with a save percentage rounding up to an impeccable 100 percent. This defensive prowess was complemented by an equally impressive offensive display where six assists contributed to four different scorers finding the back of the net.

On special teams, while both powerplay opportunities did not yield goals for Carolina, they shone while shorthanded; scoring one goal from three attempts and demonstrating strategic resilience under pressure. Faceoffs were evenly contested throughout with both teams winning half of them.

The Bruins' effort cannot go unnoticed as they delivered more hits than Carolina at 40 compared to 33 but struggled with giveaways which totaled at 18 against Carolina's five. Their lone goal came during even strength play where they had slightly better faceoff success rate than Carolina at 52 percent but could not capitalize on three powerplay chances provided.
