However, as the game progressed into the second period, the Hurricanes found their rhythm and netted three goals against the Red Wings. The third period saw each team adding one more goal to their tally, but it was Carolina's second-period surge that ultimately decided the outcome of the game.


Key players for the Hurricanes included Jack Roslovic and Jesperi Kotkaniemi who were among the stars of the game. Roslovic contributed significantly with one goal and one assist while Kotkaniemi assisted twice during crucial moments of play. On defense and between the pipes for Carolina was Frederik Andersen who made an impressive 24 saves out of 26 shots faced from Detroit. His remarkable save percentage played an essential role in keeping Detroit at bay throughout most of this tightly contested match.
