Over the last three games, Andersen has been a stalwart between the pipes, boasting an impressive save percentage of 100 percent in two of those matchups. His performance has been crucial in keeping the Hurricanes competitive, especially during their recent encounters with the Caps.

In their most recent game on May 12th, Andersen faced 21 shots and successfully turned away 19 of them. His ability to remain calm under pressure and make critical saves during power plays and shorthanded situations is a testament to his skill and experience. With a total of 58 saves across three games, he is undoubtedly a key player to watch as he looks to stifle the Capitals’ offensive threats once again.

Second Period

While Andersen holds down the fort defensively, Andrei Svechnikov has been making waves on offense for the Hurricanes. The forward has consistently found ways to contribute, recording two goals over three games. His shooting accuracy was particularly notable in their May 10th matchup where he scored with a shooting percentage of 33 percent. Svechnikov’s ability to find gaps in opposing defenses makes him a formidable presence on the ice.

Another player who could have an outsized impact is defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere. Known for his offensive prowess from the blue line, Gostisbehere tallied one goal and one assist over these recent contests. His knack for creating scoring opportunities while maintaining defensive responsibilities adds depth to Carolina’s lineup.

Third Period

On the other side of the rink, Washington’s Alex Ovechkin remains a perennial threat. Despite being held scoreless in some encounters with Carolina, Ovechkin managed to net one goal during their latest clash on May 12th with a shooting percentage of 33 percent. His physicality and experience make him someone who can change the course of a game at any moment.

Tom Wilson also stands out for Washington with his aggressive playstyle; he recorded two points (one goal and one assist) against Carolina back on May 8th. Wilson’s physical presence is something that Carolina will need to counter effectively if they hope to control momentum throughout this playoff series.
