At the United Center, home to the Blackhawks, fans witnessed a game where their team was unable to find the back of the net despite firing 24 shots on goal. The Minnesota Wild capitalized on their opportunities, converting one out of two powerplays and scoring three even-strength goals. Their shooting accuracy was notable as they scored four goals from 37 shots.

The Blackhawks dominated faceoffs winning 34 out of 50 but struggled to translate this advantage into scoring opportunities. They also recorded more hits with a total of 14 compared to the Wild's ten. However, giveaways were an issue for Chicago as they gave up possession ten times during play.

Minnesota's goaltender had an impeccable night stopping all 24 shots he faced and contributing to his team's shutout win. Conversely, Chicago's goaltender saved 33 shots but allowed four goals which proved too much for his team to overcome.

Special teams played a role in this matchup; while both teams avoided major penalties and misconducts keeping penalty minutes low with Chicago serving only four minutes for minor infractions. The Wild made good use of their powerplay chances by securing one goal during these advantageous moments.
