The Blackhawks entered the game with determination but were met with an aggressive offensive from the Blues right from the first period. Despite a valiant effort, Chicago's defense was penetrated four times in that opening period alone, setting a challenging tone for the rest of the match. The Blackhawks managed to regroup and tighten their play as they entered into the second period, holding off any further scoring from their opponents and even notching up one goal to bring some hope to their fans.

In terms of gameplay statistics, Chicago delivered 28 hits and blocked 16 shots throughout the game – showcasing their physical presence on ice despite being outscored. They took a total of 20 shots at goal but were only able to convert two into points; this resulted in a shooting percentage of ten percent for them. Their faceoff win percentage stood at forty-seven percent as they won twenty-one out of forty-five faceoffs.

Chicago's goaltender had his work cut out for him facing twenty-six shots and making twenty-one saves over sixty minutes on ice; however, five goals slipped past him which ultimately sealed his team's fate with a loss credited to his name.

On special teams play, both sides struggled to capitalize on powerplay opportunities – neither team scored during these moments despite multiple chances (two opportunities for Chicago and three for St. Louis). The Blackhawks did manage two takeaways while shorthanded but couldn't turn these moments into scoring plays.

The Blues demonstrated strong gameplay across all fronts: they executed ten assists leading up to their five goals which contributed significantly to their nineteen percent shooting success rate over twenty-six attempts at netting points.

Looking ahead after this tough defeat on enemy territory, fans can catch the next game featuring Chicago as they host Nashville Predators at United Center in Illinois on April 12th at 7:30 PM local time (CDT). This upcoming match will be available for viewing across various networks including ESPN+ online and NBCS-CHI+ along with BSSO on television platforms.
