The Blackhawks attempted to rally with 20 shots on goal but were met with an impenetrable defense and outstanding goaltending by Scott Wedgewood of the Avalanche who saved all 20 shots.

On special teams play, Chicago struggled on powerplays failing to capitalize on four opportunities despite having two shots during these chances. Their penalty kill was more successful; they allowed no goals on three shorthanded situations.

Player Performances

Among individual performances for the Blackhawks, Connor Bedard led his team with five shots on goal but couldn't find the back of the net. Spencer Knight in goal made an admirable effort with 18 saves out of 21 shots faced throughout regular play before an empty-netter sealed their fate towards game's end.

Defensively speaking, Ethan Del Mastro and Connor Murphy each contributed significantly with hits and blocked shots attempting to keep their team within striking distance. However, it wasn't enough against an Avalanche offense that found its rhythm late in the game.
