Will the Avalanche Freeze the Oilers' Momentum at Rogers Place?

The Colorado Avalanche are gearing up for what promises to be an electrifying encounter against the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place. With both teams looking to assert dominance, fans are in for a treat as these two titans clash on the ice.

The Avalanche have been on a tear recently, showcasing their prowess in a dominant 5-0 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on March 5th. The team's performance was nothing short of spectacular, with an impressive shooting percentage of 14 percent and a power play goal that contributed to their total tally. Their goaltending was impenetrable, saving all 37 shots and securing a shutout win. This level of defensive solidity combined with offensive firepower makes them formidable opponents.

In contrast, when looking at their previous game against the Nashville Predators on March 2nd, it's clear that consistency is key for COL. Despite putting up less resistance than they did against Chicago and suffering a loss with four goals conceded and only one scored by themselves, it's evident that when they find their rhythm, they can be unstoppable.

The Oilers should not be underestimated though; they will undoubtedly put up a fight in front of their home crowd. However, given COL's recent form and ability to bounce back from setbacks as seen in their game prior to facing Chicago – where they lost but still managed to take away some positives like maintaining high takeaway numbers (15) – there is reason for optimism among Avalanche fans.

It will be crucial for COL to maintain discipline and capitalize on power plays while also ensuring faceoff victories remain high – aspects that proved advantageous during their last few games. The team has demonstrated resilience and adaptability throughout the season which could very well tip the scales in this upcoming matchup.

As we look ahead to this thrilling contest scheduled for March 17th at Rogers Place in Edmonton, fans can catch all the action live on ESPN+ via internet streaming or tune into ALT if watching by TV broadcast networks. Will Colorado continue its winning ways or will Edmonton rise up? Only time will tell but one thing is certain: hockey enthusiasts won't want to miss this battle of skill and strategy on ice!
