Will the Avalanche Overcome Canadiens' Challenge at Ball Arena?

As the Colorado Avalanche prepare to host the Montreal Canadiens at Ball Arena, fans are eager to see if their team can maintain their recent momentum. The upcoming game on March 27th promises to be an intriguing matchup, with both teams bringing unique strengths to the ice.

Looking back at the Avalanche's performance in their last three games, there's a lot that fans can feel optimistic about. On March 14th against the Vancouver Canucks, despite a rocky start where they trailed by two goals after the first period, they managed to turn things around and secure a win in overtime with a final score of 4-3. This resilience is something that has defined Colorado's gameplay this season.

The powerplay unit was particularly effective during this game, scoring two goals out of four opportunities. However, it's worth noting that their faceoff win percentage was only 43 percent – an area where improvement could make them even more formidable.

In another recent game on March 13th against Calgary Flames, Colorado dominated with an impressive display of offense and defense. They scored six goals while allowing only two against them and won 63 percent of faceoffs – showcasing their ability to control play when it matters most.

Against Minnesota Wild on March 9th at Ball Arena itself, it was again an overtime situation where Colorado emerged victorious with a scoreline of 2-1. Their powerplay goal proved decisive in securing those two points for standings.

These past performances suggest that when facing Montreal Canadiens – who have had mixed results lately – Colorado has every chance to come out on top if they play to their strengths: maintaining puck possession through better faceoff percentages and capitalizing on powerplay opportunities.

However, Montreal cannot be underestimated as they bring their own set of skills and tenacity into every match-up. The key for Avalanche will be consistency throughout all periods and not just relying on late-game heroics which have bailed them out recently.

Fans should expect an exciting contest between these two teams as they battle it out in Denver’s high altitude which often plays its part as well. With home advantage and recent form favoring them slightly over Canadiens', one could argue that odds are tilted towards Avalanche but hockey is unpredictable by nature so nothing can be taken for granted until final buzzer sounds off.

The scheduled date for this clash is set for March 27th at Ball Arena in Denver; puck drop is slated for 7:00 PM MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). Fans looking forward to catching all action live can tune into ESPN+ online or watch via ALT network television broadcast.
