Avalanche to Host Jets in Denver: A Showdown of Resilience at Ball Arena

As the Colorado Avalanche gear up to host the Winnipeg Jets at Ball Arena, fans are anticipating a game that could be a testament to the team's resilience. The Avalanche have shown a mixed bag of performances in their recent outings, with an impressive 5-2 victory followed by a 6-7 nail-biter against the same opponent, the Winnipeg Jets.

In their last encounter, despite falling short by just one goal, Colorado demonstrated offensive prowess with six goals on 46 shots. However, defensive lapses allowed seven goals against on only 23 shots faced. This indicates that while their offense is firing on all cylinders, there's room for tightening up defensively.

The Avalanche's strength has been evident during even-strength play where they netted five goals in their win and four in their loss. Yet special teams seem to be an area needing improvement; they failed to capitalize on powerplay opportunities last game and will need to enhance this aspect against the Jets' formidable penalty kill.

Faceoffs have been fairly even between both teams over these games but improving faceoff win percentage could give Colorado an edge in puck possession and control of the game flow.

Goaltending remains crucial as well; although save percentages were perfect in both matches for Colorado's netminder(s), consistency will be key especially when facing high-danger scoring chances which seemed to have slipped through recently.

Fans can expect another intense matchup as both teams have demonstrated they can score and compete fiercely. The venue may play into Colorado’s hands as they return home looking for redemption after their narrow defeat. With home ice advantage and fan support at Ball Arena, it could provide just enough lift for the Avalanche to turn past lessons into present victories.

The upcoming clash is scheduled for April 28th at 18:30 UTC at Ball Arena. Fans can catch all the action live on TNT, truTV, SportsNet, TVAS or stream online via Max or watch locally on ALT network.
