In what turned out to be a pivotal third period for both teams, Valeri Nichushkin scored for Colorado to keep them competitive as they entered into overtime tied at three apiece. Overtime proved decisive as Connor Brown clinched victory for New Jersey with an additional goal that sealed their win over Colorado at home turf – marking another notch on their successful season thus far.
