First Period

The opening period saw both teams testing each other's defenses without much success until late in the frame when Tampa Bay broke through. The Bolts capitalized on their opportunities and took an early lead with a goal that set the tone for their offensive strategy.

Second Period

The second period was where Colorado made its mark. Brock Nelson and Parker Kelly each found the back of the net for the Avs, leveling up with two goals that showcased their offensive capabilities. Despite these efforts, Tampa Bay managed to maintain pressure and added another goal to keep themselves ahead.

Third Period

Entering the final period trailing by one goal, Colorado pushed hard but couldn't penetrate Tampa's defense effectively enough to alter their fate. The Bolts sealed their victory by adding two more goals in this decisive period—one being an empty-netter—demonstrating their resilience and tactical execution under pressure.

Despite outshooting Tampa Bay 33 to 28 and winning faceoffs at an impressive rate of 69 percent, what went wrong for Colorado Avalanche was evident as they struggled to convert these advantages into more goals.
