First Period


The game began with high energy from both sides. The Avalanche took an early lead with two goals in the first period, showcasing their offensive prowess. Entering into what would be a decisive third period, Toronto leveled up their game plan and tied it up with another goal from Nylander who continued to be a thorn in Colorado’s side throughout this matchup. With only minutes left on the clock, Nathan MacKinnon assisted Martin Necas who scored for Colorado again but was quickly countered by Auston Matthews’ equalizer that sent both teams into overtime.
