First Period

The opening period set the tone for what would be a dominant display by Colorado. Parker Kelly was quick off the mark, scoring two goals that left Anaheim scrambling for answers. His precision shooting was complemented by Nathan MacKinnon's playmaking abilities as he assisted on one of Kelly's goals. The Avs' defense also stood firm, allowing no goals from the Mighty Ducks despite several attempts.

Second Period

In the second period, both teams exchanged blows but it was Colorado who extended their lead with another goal. This time it was Cale Makar who found the back of the net during a powerplay opportunity, capitalizing on an assist from Brock Nelson. The Ducks managed to pull one back through Cutter Gauthier's effort but were largely kept in check by Scott Wedgewood’s impressive goaltending.

Third Period

The final period saw Colorado seal their victory with two more goals while keeping Anaheim scoreless. Martin Necas added his name to the scoresheet with a well-timed shot that beat John Gibson between the pipes for Anaheim. Gabriel Landeskog then put an exclamation point on proceedings with another goal before time expired.

Throughout this encounter, Colorado displayed superior faceoff skills winning 51 percent of them while maintaining disciplined play with only three penalties conceded compared to Anaheim’s five giveaways which proved costly against such formidable opponents like Avs’ forwards led by MacKinnon & Co., whose relentless pressure paid dividends throughout all periods played here tonight!
