In an intense matchup at the Prudential Center, the Columbus Blue Jackets were unable to secure a victory against the New Jersey Devils. Despite their efforts, the Blue Jackets managed to tally only one goal throughout the game. The team's shooting percentage was notably low at six percent as they took seventeen shots on goal but succeeded just once.

The lone goal for the Blue Jackets came during the second period which briefly raised hopes among fans. However, this was overshadowed by their opponents' consistent scoring across all three periods. The Devils demonstrated remarkable accuracy with a shooting percentage of twenty-two percent from thirty-six shots.

Defensively, Columbus struggled as well; they ended up with a minus twenty-five plus-minus rating and gave away eight times during play. Their penalty minutes reached twenty due to five minor penalties and one misconduct violation.

On special teams play, neither side managed to capitalize on powerplay opportunities as much as they would have liked; however, it was particularly challenging for Columbus who had five chances but failed to convert any into goals despite winning sixty-seven percent of their powerplay faceoffs.

Columbus goaltender faced an onslaught from thirty-six shots and made twenty-eight saves throughout the game but unfortunately allowed eight goals past him resulting in a save percentage below eighty percent for both even strength and shorthanded situations.

Despite these setbacks, there were some positive aspects for Columbus including their faceoff performance where they won sixty-two percent overall – showing strong control in that aspect of their game.

Looking ahead after this tough loss on enemy ice, fans can look forward to supporting their team when they return home to Nationwide Arena. The upcoming game will see them take on another formidable opponent –the New York Rangers– scheduled for April 8th at 7:00 PM Eastern Time. Fans can catch all action live through various broadcast networks including ESPN+ online or BSOH channel 660 locally while MSG channel 634 will cater to away supporters.
