In front of a home crowd at Nationwide Arena, the Blue Jackets displayed resilience throughout the game. Despite this setback, Columbus managed to secure one point due to reaching overtime.

Their powerplay unit capitalized once out of four opportunities and fired six shots on goal during these man advantages. The team's faceoff performance was competitive with a win percentage just shy of fifty percent at forty-eight percent overall.


Defensively, Columbus showed tenacity with fifteen hits and sixteen blocked shots contributing to their physical presence on ice. They also took away possession nine times from Minnesota through takeaways indicating an active defense strategy.


On special teams aside from their powerplay success, they held strong while shorthanded not allowing any goals despite facing eight shots in such situations and maintaining a perfect penalty kill rate for this game.


The Wild’s victory was supported by two powerplay goals out of four chances which proved crucial in their win. Their faceoff prowess slightly edged out Columbus as they won fifty-two percent of all faceoffs taken during this encounter.
