Nationwide Arena Showdown: Columbus Blue Jackets Face Seattle Kraken

As the Columbus Blue Jackets prepare to host the Seattle Kraken at Nationwide Arena, fans are eager to see if their team can maintain their recent momentum. The Blue Jackets have shown a mixed bag of results in their past few games, but one thing is certain: they know how to find the back of the net.

The most recent outing for the Blue Jackets was a tough loss against Toronto Maple Leafs where they managed only one goal compared to Toronto's four. Despite this setback, there were positives; Columbus put up 28 shots and had a solid penalty kill with no goals allowed on four powerplay opportunities for Toronto.

Before that game, Columbus faced off against Washington Capitals in an overtime thriller that ended 3-2 in favor of Washington. Although it was an overtime loss, the Blue Jackets showed resilience by forcing the extra period and securing a point from the match. They fired off an impressive 36 shots and blocked 21 attempts from Washington.

However, it's worth noting that just prior to these two games, Columbus had an explosive performance against Buffalo Sabres with a commanding 9-4 victory. Their offense was firing on all cylinders as they scored nine goals from just 34 shots – showcasing efficiency and clinical finishing.

Defensively though, there are areas for improvement as they've conceded multiple goals in each of these matches. Goaltending will be crucial if they want to secure more wins moving forward.

Fans should expect an exciting game full of offensive plays when these two teams meet at Nationwide Arena. With both teams looking to assert dominance early on, it could be anyone’s game.

The upcoming match is scheduled for January 14th at Nationwide Arena in Columbus Ohio. Fans can catch all the action live on ESPN+ or BSOH (channel 660) locally or ROOT Sports NW (channel 687) if following from away territories.
