Nationwide Arena Set to Host Columbus Blue Jackets and Vancouver Canucks

As the Columbus Blue Jackets prepare to welcome the Vancouver Canucks to Nationwide Arena, fans are eager for what promises to be an exciting NHL matchup. The game is set against a backdrop of recent performances that could influence the outcome on the ice.

The Blue Jackets have shown a varied trend in their last few games. A stunning offensive display marked their encounter with the Buffalo Sabres, where they netted nine goals, showcasing an impressive shooting percentage of 27 percent. However, this high was followed by a low against the Washington Capitals, where despite taking more shots than in their previous win (36), they only managed two goals and ultimately succumbed in overtime. Their most recent game against the Toronto Maple Leafs saw them struggle even more offensively; with 28 shots taken but only one goal scored, reflecting a mere four percent shooting success rate.

Defensively, there's room for improvement as well. The team allowed four goals from just 30 shots against Toronto – an indication that goaltending and defensive plays will need tightening up if they are to stave off Vancouver's offense.

Special teams have been inconsistent too; while they didn't capitalize on any of their four powerplay opportunities against Toronto, they did manage to keep them at bay during penalty kills – something that could be crucial in their upcoming game.

Nationwide Arena has been a fortress at times for Columbus but will need to be again if they're going to bounce back from their latest defeat. With fan support behind them and lessons learned from past performances, it's all about execution on game day.

Fans can catch all the action live on January 15th at 6:00 PM EST at Nationwide Arena or tune into ESPN+ or BSOH channel 660 for those watching from home.
