Nationwide Arena Set to Host Columbus Blue Jackets and New Jersey Devils

As the Columbus Blue Jackets prepare to face off against the New Jersey Devils at Nationwide Arena, fans can expect an intriguing NHL matchup. The Blue Jackets have had a mixed bag of results in their recent outings, showcasing both their potential for high-scoring games as well as some defensive vulnerabilities.

In their last game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Blue Jackets were on the losing end with a final score that reflected a tough offensive struggle. They managed only one goal from twenty-eight shots, translating to a shooting percentage of just four percent. Their powerplay opportunities did not bear fruit despite having four chances, indicating an area that could use improvement.

However, looking back at their performance two games ago against the Washington Capitals tells a slightly different story. Although it was an overtime loss for Columbus with three goals conceded and thirty-six shots faced by their goaltender who saved ninety-one percent of them, they showed resilience by pushing the game beyond regulation time.

The most notable performance came three games back when they visited Buffalo Sabres. The Blue Jackets unleashed an offensive onslaught scoring nine goals from thirty-four shots which is an impressive twenty-seven percent shooting accuracy. Their faceoff win percentage was lower than usual at forty-five percent but it didn't seem to hinder their ability to find the back of the net.

While these past performances paint a picture of inconsistency, there's no denying that when on form, Columbus has what it takes to be formidable opponents. As they return home to Nationwide Arena—a venue known for its energetic atmosphere—the team will look to leverage home-ice advantage and aim for consistency in both offense and defense.

The upcoming match is scheduled for January 20th at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Fans can catch all the action on ESPN+ online or BSOH channel 660 locally in Columbus or MSG channel 634 if following from away territories.
