Blue Jackets Set to Battle Kings at Crypto.com Arena

As the Columbus Blue Jackets prepare to face off against the Los Angeles Kings at the Crypto.com Arena, fans can anticipate an intriguing matchup. The Blue Jackets have shown a mixed bag of performances in their recent outings, which could play a significant role in the upcoming game.

In their last game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Columbus struggled with offensive production, managing only one goal on 28 shots for a shooting percentage of four percent. Their faceoff win rate was below par at 45 percent and they were outplayed in most statistical categories, leading to a loss with just one point scored.

However, looking back two games prior against the Washington Capitals, Columbus put up a stronger fight. They forced an overtime situation after scoring two goals on 36 shots and showed resilience on defense by blocking 21 shots. Despite losing in overtime and earning only two points from that game, there were positive takeaways regarding their ability to push games beyond regulation time.

The most notable performance came three games ago when Columbus faced off against Buffalo Sabres away from home. The Blue Jackets dominated with nine goals from just 34 shots – an impressive shooting percentage of twenty-six percent – while also holding their own defensively by saving twenty-five out of twenty-nine shots on goal.

These varying performances suggest that consistency is key for Columbus as they head into Los Angeles. With recent wins under their belt but also some tough losses, it's clear that if they can harness the same energy and execution displayed against Buffalo while tightening up defensively as seen in other matches, they could very well come out on top.

Fans can catch this exciting encounter between Columbus Blue Jackets and Los Angeles Kings on February 21st at 3:30 AM UTC. The match will be broadcasted nationally via ESPN+ and locally through BSW (channel 692) for home viewers or BSOH (channel 660) for those cheering from away.
