Blue Jackets and Senators Clash at Nationwide Arena

As the Columbus Blue Jackets prepare to host the Ottawa Senators at Nationwide Arena, fans are eager to see if their team can continue its recent performance trends. The Blue Jackets have shown a mix of outcomes in their past games, which could make for an unpredictable matchup against the Senators.

In their last game against the Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus emerged victorious with a 5-2 win. Their offense was firing on all cylinders, netting five goals on 31 shots for a solid shooting percentage of 16 percent. However, they struggled in faceoffs, winning only 47 percent of them and will need to improve in this area.

The previous home game saw the Blue Jackets fall short against the Carolina Hurricanes with a score of 4-2. Despite having fewer hits and losing faceoff battles where they only won 39 percent of draws, they managed to convert one out of two powerplay opportunities into a goal.

Their visit to Madison Square Garden ended in defeat as well; however, it was a tight contest with Columbus scoring once on an impressive shooting percentage but ultimately conceding four goals including two empty-netters.

Looking ahead to their encounter with Ottawa, maintaining strong goaltending will be crucial for Columbus as it has been one consistent area over these games. Additionally, capitalizing on powerplay chances could be key given that they've scored during man-advantage situations despite limited opportunities.

Nationwide Arena has been known to provide an electric atmosphere that can energize the home team while challenging visitors. With both teams looking to assert themselves in this matchup, fans should expect an intense battle on ice where every play could tip the scales.

The upcoming game is scheduled for March 14th at 7:00 PM Eastern Time at Nationwide Arena in Columbus Ohio. Fans can catch all the action live on ESPN+ via internet streaming or BSOH TV network coverage.
