Columbus Blue Jackets Set to Invade Music City for Showdown with Nashville Predators

As the Columbus Blue Jackets prepare to take on the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena, fans are buzzing with anticipation. The Blue Jackets have been a force to reckon with, and their recent performance suggests that they could very well continue their impressive run.

In their last game against the Colorado Avalanche on April 1st, the Blue Jackets demonstrated a remarkable ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities. Despite taking fewer shots (25 compared to Colorado's 46), Columbus managed an impressive shooting percentage of 16 percent, netting four goals and securing a win. This efficiency in front of goal is something that could trouble any opponent, including the Predators.

The goaltending for CBJ has also been noteworthy; saving 45 out of 46 shots against Colorado shows that they have reliability between the pipes when it matters most. This level of goaltending will be crucial as they face a Nashville team known for its aggressive play style.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing in previous games. Against Pittsburgh Penguins on March 30th, despite pulling off a win after a shootout and showing resilience by overcoming deficits twice during regular time, CBJ had issues with faceoff wins – only winning 43 percent overall. Improving in this area will be vital against Nashville as controlling puck possession often translates into controlling the game's pace.

Moreover, when looking at CBJ’s away performance against Pittsburgh Penguins on March 28th where they lost by one goal margin (3-2), it was evident that special teams played a significant role; both goals scored were during powerplay opportunities which accounted for their entire scoring output that night. While converting powerplay chances is important, generating offense at even strength will be key in ensuring victory over Nashville.

The upcoming battle promises to be an exciting one as both teams are known for their competitive spirit and drive to win every puck battle. The Blue Jackets' recent form suggests they have what it takes to come out victorious if they can maintain their shooting efficiency and strong goaltending while improving faceoff percentages and even-strength play.

Fans eager not to miss this clash can catch all the action live from Bridgestone Arena on April 14th at ESPN+ online or BSOH/BSSO television networks starting at 7:00 PM CT.
