The game started off strong for the Columbus Blue Jackets as they managed to secure an early lead by netting two goals in the first period. Damon Severson and Mathieu Olivier stood out for Columbus by each scoring once; however, their contributions weren't enough to secure a win. On goaltending duties for Columbus was Elvis Merzlikins who made 12 saves against an onslaught of shots from Vancouver.

The stars of Vancouver played crucial roles in their team's comeback and eventual triumph over Columbus. Kevin Lankinen’s goaltending was stellar as he saved an impressive number of shots leading his team to victory while Quinn Hughes and Brock Boeser contributed significantly on offense which helped turn the tide in favor of Vancouver.
