First Period

The opening period saw both teams locked in a defensive battle, with neither side able to find the back of the net. The Blue Jackets managed 10 shots on goal while limiting the Leafs to just 7 attempts. Both goaltenders were sharp early on, setting the tone for what would be an exciting game.

Second Period

The action picked up significantly in the second period as Adam Fantilli broke through for Columbus with his first goal of the night. His performance was pivotal as he later assisted Dmitri Voronkov's goal, giving CBJ a temporary lead. However, John Tavares responded for Toronto with a crucial goal that kept his team within striking distance.

Third Period

In the third period, Zach Werenski's defensive efforts were instrumental as he blocked several key shots from Toronto's forwards. Despite their best efforts and another goal from Tavares tying it up for Toronto, Columbus held firm defensively thanks to Jet Greaves' impressive goaltending performance.

Overtime

Overtime proved decisive when Adam Fantilli once again stepped up for CBJ by scoring his second goal of the match during an even-strength play. This clinched victory for Columbus and secured them two valuable points on their road trip.
