In an intense matchup at the Canadian Tire Centre, the Dallas Stars were unable to secure victory against the Ottawa Senators. The game began with promise as the Stars managed to notch up one goal in the first period. However, they couldn't maintain their lead, failing to score in the second period while allowing one goal by their opponents.

The third period saw a surge from both teams. The Senators capitalized on opportunities and scored three goals, while the Stars could only add one more to their tally. Despite equal faceoff wins at 30 each and an even number of powerplay chances for both teams (three for Dallas and four for Ottawa), it was not enough for Dallas to overcome their opponents.

The goaltending efforts from Dallas resulted in 28 saves but fell short compared to Ottawa's goaltender who saved 29 shots with a save percentage of approximately 94 percent compared to Dallas' goalie saving around 88 percent of shots faced. Both teams shared an equal faceoff win percentage of fifty percent overall during regular play.

Dallas' offense took a total of thirty-one shots on goal but only managed two goals throughout all periods combined; this amounted to a shooting percentage near seven percent which paled in comparison to Ottawa's twelve percent shooting efficiency that led them towards four successful goals out of thirty-two attempts.

On defense, both sides showed resilience; however, it was notable that while each team blocked sixteen attempts by their adversaries, Dallas had twenty-one blocked shots against them whereas Ottawa had just sixteen. Additionally, despite having six giveaways by Dallas compared to eleven by Ottawa – indicating stronger puck possession – it did not translate into scoring success for them.

Looking ahead after this defeat on foreign ice, fans can anticipate watching their next game when The Dallas Stars travel eastward again as they are scheduled against Boston Bruins at TD Garden on October twenty-fifth at seven o'clock Eastern Time Zone evening hours. This upcoming match will be available across various networks including ESPN+ online streaming service nationally and BSSW TV channel six hundred seventy-six catering specifically towards away team supporters wishing to follow along live from afar.
