The Kings managed to find the back of the net once during even strength play out of their total twenty-eight shots but struggled overall with a shooting percentage of four percent. Despite winning fifty-two percent of faceoffs and delivering forty-two hits during play, they could not capitalize on their physicality or possession advantage.

Special teams played a pivotal role for both sides; however, it was Dallas who excelled with one powerplay goal from two chances while successfully defending against Los Angeles's single powerplay opportunity without conceding any goals.
