Game Highlights

The game remained scoreless through the first period as both teams struggled to find the back of the net. The action picked up in the second period when both teams managed to score two goals each. The Stars showcased their powerplay strength but were unable to convert their opportunities into goals during regular play. Despite numerous shots on goal—38 by Dallas and 27 by San Jose—the regulation time ended with both teams tied at 2-2.

The goaltenders from both sides were exceptional throughout, with Dallas' goalie making 25 saves on 27 shots and San Jose's goalie stopping an impressive 36 out of 38 shots faced. However, it was during the shootout that Dallas managed to secure their win, scoring three times compared to San Jose's single goal.

Star Performances

Matt Duchene and Roope Hintz were standout performers for Dallas. Duchene scored one of his team's two regulation goals and successfully converted his attempt during the shootout. His performance earned him one of the star selections for this game alongside teammate Hintz who also made significant contributions including scoring in regulation time.

For San Jose, Tyler Toffoli was recognized for his efforts despite not being able to help his team secure a win. He played an integral role throughout but fell short in turning around his team's fortunes during crucial moments.
