First Period


The opening period saw both teams testing each other's defenses, but it was Edmonton who managed to break through first. The Oil capitalized on their opportunities and took an early lead with one goal in this period. The Stars struggled to maintain possession and create significant scoring chances against a well-organized opposition.


Second Period


As play resumed in the second period, Dallas found themselves under increased pressure from Edmonton's relentless attack. The Oil extended their lead by adding two more goals during this segment of play. Despite having several powerplay opportunities, including two faceoff wins out of five attempts during powerplays, Dallas couldn't convert these into goals.

Miro Heiskanen stood out for his defensive contributions with nearly 24 minutes on ice time and one takeaway; however, his efforts weren't enough to turn things around for his team. Goaltender Jake Oettinger made 22 saves but was unable to keep all shots at bay as he faced intense pressure throughout.


Third Period


Entering into what would be their last chance for redemption in this game, Dallas continued battling hard but remained goalless by full-time whistle's blow after three periods without scoring any points despite taking twenty-five shots overall – matching that taken by opponents across entire match duration too!
