Dallas Stars Rally in Third Period but Fall to Calgary Flames in Shootout

First Period


The opening period saw the Flames take an early lead. Matt Coronato scored for Calgary, putting them ahead as they capitalized on their powerplay opportunities. The Stars struggled to find their rhythm and ended the period without scoring.


Second Period


Both teams tightened their defenses during the second period, resulting in no goals being scored. Dallas managed to increase pressure on Calgary's goaltender Devin Cooley but couldn't convert any chances into goals.

Third Period


In a dramatic turn of events, Dallas came alive in the third period. Roope Hintz found the back of the net, assisted by Tyler Seguin and Esa Lindell, leveling up for Green and Gold. Jason Robertson then added another goal for Dallas, showcasing his offensive prowess once again.


Overtime and Shootout


Despite several attempts from both sides during overtime play, neither team could secure a win within regulation time or overtime itself. In shootouts that followed shortly after Casey DeSmith made crucial saves; however it was not enough as Flaming C edged out victory by scoring twice against his single save attempt.
