First Period

The opening period saw both teams testing each other's defenses without any goals being scored. The Stars managed to keep up their defensive pressure while maintaining an equal footing in faceoffs with a win percentage of 50 percent. Despite several attempts from both sides, neither team could find the back of the net.

Second Period

As play resumed in the second period, it was clear that adjustments were made by both teams during intermission. The Kings struck first with a powerplay goal that gave them an initial lead. However, this was short-lived as Matt Duchene and Mikko Rantanen combined efforts to level the score for Dallas with Duchene scoring and Rantanen assisting.

Third Period

The third period belonged entirely to the Green and Gold as they unleashed an offensive onslaught against L.A.'s defense. Oskar Back's precision shot found its mark early on, giving Dallas a crucial lead which they would not relinquish. Wyatt Johnston further extended this advantage by capitalizing on opportunities created by his teammates' relentless pressure.

Dallas's goaltender Casey DeSmith played a pivotal role throughout all periods but shone particularly in this final stretch by making key saves that thwarted any comeback attempts from L.A., finishing with 27 saves overall.
