In their last game against the New Jersey Devils, the Red Wings managed to score twice but ultimately fell short with a 3-2 loss. Despite this setback, there were positive takeaways; they displayed a solid penalty kill with an impressive 100 percent success rate and their goaltender saved 33 out of 36 shots, reflecting a save percentage of around 92 percent. However, they struggled on power plays and faceoffs, winning only 25 percent and around half respectively.

The previous home game showcased the offensive capabilities of the Red Wings as they triumphed over the Philadelphia Flyers in a high-scoring affair that ended in a shootout victory with seven points on board. Their shooting accuracy was notable at approximately 16 percent and they successfully capitalized on one out of three power play opportunities.

However, consistency remains an issue for Detroit as evidenced by their performance against Winnipeg Jets where they suffered from defensive lapses leading to a minus-15 goal differential. They also struggled in faceoff circles with only around 44 percent wins and failed to convert any power play chances into goals.

As we look ahead to the upcoming game against Vegas Golden Knights, it's clear that special teams' performance could be pivotal for Detroit. Improving faceoff win percentages will also be crucial for maintaining possession and dictating play pace.

Fans can catch all the action live from Little Caesars Arena on January 28th through various broadcast networks including ESPN+ online or BSDET TV channel locally. The puck drops at midnight UTC time (7 PM Eastern Time), promising another thrilling night of hockey in Motor City.
