Defensively, both teams were busy blocking shots and engaging physically. The Red Wings recorded 20 hits and blocked 16 shots throughout the game but struggled to maintain possession during faceoffs winning only 45 percent compared to Rangers' 55 percent success rate.


Player Performances


Moritz Seider stood out for Detroit with one goal from four shots on target showcasing his shooting accuracy at twenty-five percent which was among the highest for his team during this matchup. His overall play was solid as he led his team with five hits indicating his physical presence on ice along with contributing defensively.

J.T Compher also made notable contributions for Detroit by scoring one goal and assisting another making him involved in all two goals scored by his team that night. His shooting accuracy was impressive at fifty percent from two shots taken which reflects his effectiveness when given scoring chances.


In terms of goaltending performances, Cam Talbot faced a challenging night against an aggressive Rangers offense allowing five goals from thirty-four shots which put him at a save percentage of eighty-six percent for this game while Alex Lyon had fifteen saves maintaining a perfect save percentage during his time on ice.
