UTSA Roadrunners Stumble in Denton as North Texas Mean Green Surge

The University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners faced a challenging matchup against the North Texas Mean Green at DATCU Stadium in Denton, TX. The game concluded with the Mean Green securing a decisive victory, finishing 55-17. This result brought the Roadrunners' season record to 3-4, while the Mean Green improved to an impressive 6-1.

First Quarter


The opening quarter set an intense pace as both teams exchanged early scores. The UTSA Roadrunners managed to put up 7 points on the board, showcasing their offensive capabilities. However, North Texas responded with a strong performance, accumulating 17 points and establishing an early lead.


Second Quarter


In the second quarter, UTSA's offense continued to push forward with another touchdown that kept them competitive against UNT's defense. Owen McCown led this effort by completing one of his passes for a touchdown during this period. Despite their efforts, UNT matched their score with another touchdown of their own.


Third Quarter


As play resumed after halftime, North Texas took control of the game in the third quarter by scoring three touchdowns and extending their lead significantly over UTSA’s single field goal contribution from Michael Petro who maintained his perfect kicking record for this match.


Fourth Quarter


The final quarter saw UNT adding another ten points without any response from UTSA’s side which sealed off any chance for comeback attempts by Runners’ squad despite notable defensive plays including Nnanna Anyanwu’s sack that momentarily halted UNT advances earlier on during gameplay but wasn’t enough overall given how well-coordinated UNT appeared throughout all four quarters played out today here within stadium confines located inside city limits belonging solely unto Denton itself where fans gathered en masse cheering loudly every successful move made either offensively or defensively alike whenever possible too!
