In what was a challenging night for the Edmonton Oilers at Climate Pledge Arena, they were unable to find the back of the net despite firing 29 shots on goal. The Oilers' offense struggled throughout all three periods and failed to capitalize on four powerplay opportunities. Their powerplay unit managed five shots but did not convert any into goals. Even strength play also proved fruitless for Edmonton with zero goals from 20 shots.

Defensively, the Oilers recorded 21 hits and blocked 12 shots but still ended up with a minus-15 plus-minus rating as a team. The penalty kill was one area where they excelled; they successfully killed off all penalties without conceding any goals while shorthanded and even managed four shorthanded shots themselves.

Goaltending for Edmonton saw a total of 24 saves made out of 27 shots faced, resulting in an .889 save percentage for the night. Despite their goaltender's efforts, two even-strength goals slipped past along with one during an opposing powerplay.

The Seattle Kraken capitalized on their home ice advantage by scoring three times from their total of 27 attempts at goal which gave them an impressive shooting percentage of eleven percent compared to Edmonton's zero percent. The Kraken also outperformed in faceoffs won (25) and takeaways (9), contributing to their overall dominance during play.

Seattle's special teams played well; although they did not score on six powerplay chances, they were able to notch one shorthanded goal which highlighted their aggressive penalty-killing approach that paid dividends. Their goaltender had an outstanding performance stopping all 29 shots he faced from the Oilers' offense securing him a perfect save percentage and contributing significantly to his team's victory.

As fans look ahead, "the" Edmonton Oilers will be visiting "the" Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary for their next matchup scheduled for September 28 at 7:00 PM local time (Mountain Time).
