The Edmonton Oilers showcased an impressive offensive performance against the visiting Anaheim Ducks. Right from the opening period, the Oilers established a commanding lead with four goals, setting a tone that persisted throughout the game. They continued their scoring spree with two additional goals in the second period and capped off their victory with another two goals in the third.

The Oilers' shooting accuracy was remarkable as they converted eight of their 26 shots into goals, boasting a shooting percentage of 31 percent for this encounter. Their powerplay unit was particularly effective, capitalizing on two out of six opportunities presented to them. This special teams success was complemented by four assists during powerplays.

Defensively, Edmonton's goaltender played a pivotal role by saving 21 out of 23 shots faced, reflecting a save percentage of about 91 percent which contributed significantly to securing this win for his team. In contrast, Anaheim's goaltender struggled throughout the match; he managed only 18 saves from 26 shots – resulting in an unimpressive save percentage around just under seventy percent.

Anaheim's efforts were further hampered by their inability to capitalize on any powerplay chances despite having three opportunities to do so and only managing one shot during these moments. Additionally, they were heavily outscored in plus-minus rating where they ended up at minus twenty compared to Edmonton’s plus twenty.
