At Rogers Place, the home crowd witnessed the Oilers' goaltender making an impressive 21 saves out of 22 shots for a save percentage of about 96 percent. This defensive solidity was crucial in securing the win. The Oilers' offense fired off a total of 38 shots on goal and successfully found the back of the net twice. Their shooting accuracy was slightly better than their opponents', rounding up to about five percent compared to Calgary's six percent.

The home team displayed discipline and effectiveness during shorthanded situations by scoring one goal from three attempts while down a player. This shorthanded goal contributed significantly to their overall success on the night. In contrast, despite having three powerplay opportunities themselves, they were unable to capitalize on any.

Faceoffs were an area where Edmonton showed dominance by winning about 55 percent of all faceoffs during the game which helped them maintain control over play more often than not. They also managed four assists throughout various plays contributing to their six points earned during this matchup.

On defense, Edmonton blocked eleven shots and recorded thirteen takeaways indicating active sticks and good positioning throughout the game. Their penalty kill unit stood firm against all powerplay chances faced without conceding any goals.

The visiting Calgary Flames put up a valiant effort but fell short despite their goaltender's remarkable performance with thirty-six saves from thirty-eight shots for an impressive save percentage close to ninety-five percent as well. However, they struggled in faceoff wins managing only twenty-seven out of sixty which hindered their ability to establish control over play consistently.

As fans look forward to future games, they can mark their calendars for when Edmonton will be facing off against Winnipeg Jets at Canada Life Centre on October second at seven o'clock PM Mountain Time Zone (MT). Fans eager not miss this encounter can catch it live on ESPN+ or TSN3 networks.
