In an impressive showing on their home ice, the Oilers demonstrated why they are one of the formidable teams this season. The game began with Edmonton setting the pace early on by scoring once in the first period and maintaining that lead with another goal in the second. As they entered into the third period, they solidified their dominance by adding two more goals to their tally.

Edmonton's powerplay unit was particularly effective, converting two out of three opportunities into goals. This special teams success was complemented by an overall shooting percentage of 19 percent from a total of 21 shots on goal. The Oilers' goaltender played a crucial role as well, saving 28 out of 29 shots for an impeccable save percentage rounding to nearly perfect figures.

The Predators struggled to find their footing throughout the match. Despite winning faceoffs at a rate of 58 percent and blocking more attempts than Edmonton with a total count of 19 blocked shots, Nashville could not capitalize on their three powerplay chances and only managed to score once during even strength play.

Nashville's sole goal came during regular play in the third period which briefly threatened to shift momentum but ultimately did not deter Edmonton from securing victory. Their goaltender faced fewer shots than his counterpart but allowed three goals before an empty netter sealed Nashville's fate late in the game.

As fans look ahead, they can mark their calendars for when "the" Oilers will take on "the" Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena located in Las Vegas. Scheduled for February 7th at T-Mobile Arena, fans can catch this encounter live nationally via ESPN+ or Hulu starting at approximately 8:00 PM Mountain Time (MT).
