Can the Oilers Outskate the Bruins at TD Garden?

As the Edmonton Oilers prepare to face off against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden, fans are eager to see if their team can carry forward their recent momentum. The Oilers have been a mixed bag of results lately, but there's reason for cautious optimism as they head into this challenging away game.

Looking at their last game on February 24th against Minnesota Wild, Edmonton showed resilience despite a loss. They managed to put up 43 shots on goal and had a powerplay success rate of 100 percent, converting both opportunities they had. However, it was not enough as they fell short with only two goals scored and an empty-netter contributing to their defeat.

The powerplay has been a strong point for the Oilers; in fact, over these past games, it has been consistently effective. On February 22nd against Boston Bruins themselves in an overtime thriller that ended in favor of Boston with a scoreline of 6-5, Edmonton's powerplay didn't convert but still created chances with six shots during those opportunities.

Edmonton's ability to generate offense is evident from these performances. They've shown that when given space and time on the man advantage, they can be lethal. However, even-strength play remains an area where consistency is needed. Against Arizona Coyotes on February 19th at Mullett Arena – albeit in a win – five out of six goals came from even-strength situations which shows potential for improvement.

The upcoming game will test Edmonton's resolve further as they take on a formidable opponent in Boston who boasts solid goaltending and defensive play – something that was clear from their previous encounter where Boston managed to net six times despite being outshot by Edmonton.

For fans looking forward to this matchup between two high-caliber teams: expect an intense battle where special teams could very well decide the outcome once again. The key for EDM will be capitalizing on any powerplay chances while tightening up defensively during even-strength play.

The scheduled puck drop is set for March 6th at TD Garden with coverage beginning at 7:30 PM EST available through NESN network broadcasts. Fans won't want to miss what promises to be another exciting chapter in this cross-conference rivalry.
