The game at Scotiabank Arena saw an impressive turnout with 19,342 fans in attendance. The Oilers came into this match aiming to improve their standing but found themselves trailing as they were unable to score in the first two periods. Despite a valiant effort in the third period where they scored all three of their goals, it was not enough to overcome the deficit created earlier in the game.

The Oilers showcased their strength during powerplays by scoring two goals out of five opportunities and achieving a faceoff win percentage of 56 percent during these moments. Their overall shooting percentage stood at eight percent with thirty-nine shots on goal throughout the game. The team's penalty minutes totaled twenty-three due to one major penalty and four minor penalties.

On defense, Edmonton blocked eleven shots and delivered thirty-one hits but struggled with giveaways which tallied up to nine by game's end. Goaltending for Edmonton showed resilience with twenty-three saves made against twenty-eight shots during playtime but ultimately conceded six goals including one empty-netter which sealed their fate.

Conversely, Toronto capitalized on their chances by maintaining an impressive shooting percentage of twenty-one percent from twenty-nine shots taken. They also proved more effective on powerplays scoring once out of three opportunities while also blocking more attempts than Edmonton with twenty-eight blocked shots credited to them.
