The Edmonton Oilers showcased a formidable performance at Scotiabank Saddledome, where they managed to secure four goals from twenty-seven shots, reflecting an efficient shooting percentage of fifteen percent. The team's powerplay unit was particularly effective, converting two out of six opportunities into goals. These critical powerplay goals were supported by four assists and came from just five shots on goal during man-advantage situations.

Defensively, the Oilers were equally robust; their goaltender made thirty-three saves throughout the game, achieving a perfect save percentage and allowing only two goals against on even strength. This defensive solidity was complemented by seventeen blocked shots and twelve takeaways that helped maintain their lead.

On offense, aside from powerplay success, the team also scored two even-strength goals from twenty shots. They displayed dominance in faceoffs as well with a fifty-five percent win rate (winning thirty-six out of sixty-five) which allowed them to control much of the gameplay.

The Calgary Flames put up a strong fight but fell short despite taking more shots than their opponents – thirty-five in total – but only managing to convert six percent into scoring plays. Their powerplay matched that of the Oilers in terms of opportunities but was less effective overall.
