On defense and between pipes, Calvin Pickard's goaltending was pivotal for Edmonton's success; he saved 24 out of 25 shots faced throughout regulation time and overtime combined – achieving a perfect save percentage during shorthanded situations by stopping all four shots he faced under those circumstances.


Islanders' Effort


Despite falling short in overtime, The New York Islanders displayed commendable effort throughout this closely contested match-up. Their goalie made an impressive total of 33 saves on 35 shots but unfortunately couldn't stop Draisaitl's decisive shot in overtime.

Bo Horvat emerged as a key player for New York by scoring their only goal which sent them into OT showing resilience against one of Western Conference’s top teams.
